Stevan Jovetic: Is he the suitable player to replace Carlos Tevez?
Fiorentina have secured the services of the 28 year old German Mario Gomez. Tevez has settled down in Turin ( Juventus ). Higuain’s future is hanging between Arsenal and Real Madrid. Pellegrini wants Edin Dzeko to stay at Manchester City.
Stevan Jovetic, the striker from Montenegro striker who plays for Fiorentina, is looking for a move from Florence. He is currently valued around 26M Euros.
Chelsea and Manchester City look like the major contenders to sign this prolific player.
Manchester City sold Balotelli to Milan and Tevez to Juventus so now only have Aguero and Dzeko as their first choice strikers.
Jovetic would be a good addition at the Etihad. Manchester City are also negotiating a price for Alvaro Negredo of Sevilla , who played in Euro 2012 in the absence of injured David Villa.
Manchester City could sign both of them and according to a report, Pellegrini is ready to spend 42M Euros on Jovetic and Negredo.
Chelsea have El Nino and Ba as their first choice strikers but the board are not happy with their recent goal scoring form.
The London club have a good squad with a number of star individuals (Cech, Terry, Cole, Azpilicueta, Lampard, Eden Hazard, Mata, Schurrle and Oscar.)
But it is not enough for a team to just have a strong and creative mid field to score more goals and win games. In the EPL a team can only contend for the first spot if it has a in-form striker in its ranks.
Chelsea have already failed to sign Falcao and Mario Gomez and Edinson Cavani is set to join French champions PSG.
Mourinho has options in unsettled striker Manchester United, Wayne Rooney and also Liverpool’s Luis Suarez. However he is also ready to offer around 25M for Jovetic.
Arsenal were in pole position to sign the striker at the start of the window, however their bid was rejected. If Higuain stays at Madrid, then Arsenal might increase their bid for Jovetic.
Jovetic usually plays as a second striker. He can also play along the left flank as a winger. He played a crucial part in Fiorentina’s successful season as they finished fourth in Serie A and secured a spot in the Europa League.
