Rangers are reportedly looking into a deal to sign Kemar Roofe this summer if Alfredo Morelos leaves. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Roofe is now ‘top of the list’ of potential replacements for the Colombian.
The report claims a £5 million transfer valuation has been slapped on the £10,000-a-week star. If Morelos does end up leaving Ibrox this summer, Leeds will be receiving a phonecall.
It is claimed that Ibrox director of football Mark Allen identified Roofe who has quickly become Gerrard’s number one target.

So why would Gerrard be so keen on Roofe?
Of course, Roofe has been in fine form for Leeds over the past two seasons and was the club’s top-scorer last term.
But the Rangers manager has actually seen Roofe in action before.
Back in November 2016, Liverpool took on Leeds United in an EFL Cup quarter-final. Jurgen Klopp’s side were pushed all the way by a well drilled Leeds side under Garry Monk’s management.
One of the star players on the night was Roofe. He ran the Liverpool defence ragged that night and nearly scored with a sublime effort from range. BBC Sport awarded him man of the match, despite Ben Woodburn becoming Liverpool’s youngest ever scorer in a 2-0 win.
Rangers boss Gerrard, recently retired from the game, was pictured watching the game, as reported by The Sun. So the Ibrox supremo would have seen the pace and movement that Roofe possesses first hand. No wonder he wants to bring him to Glasgow this summer.
