English midfielder Marcus Maddison put his name in the frame for a Rangers move with his latest social media activity.
On his personal Instagram account, Maddison hosted a Q & A session with fans and was asked whether he would consider joining Rangers.
Maddison replied: “Out of all the Scottish teams, Rangers would be my 1st choice definitely.”
Maddison’s comments should have Rangers intrigued and Steven Gerrard should be considering a swoop.
The 25-year-old has been impressive in League One for several seasons and this campaign is no exception.
In 29 games, Maddison has scored three goals but contributed with an incredible tally of 16 assists, according to transfermarkt.
The 2017/18 season yielded a tally of 12 goals and 23 assists for Posh, while he chalked up a tally of nine goals and 18 assists in 2016/17.
With 24 goals and 57 assists in the last two-and-a-half seasons, it is remarkable that Maddison has not yet left Peterborough.
The left-footed playmaker, who can operate centrally, on the wing or even at full-back, is surely worth a risk for Rangers.
If he can replicate that sort of tally in the Scottish Premiership, Rangers’ hopes of winning the title will surely be boosted.
Given his recent admission about his love for Rangers, this could be a match made in heaven.
