Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has waxed lyrical about Scott Wright after the Ibrox newcomer opened his account for the club on Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old joined Rangers in January and has made nine appearances to date, scoring one goal and registering two assists.
Wright made his first Scottish Premiership start as he was named in Gerrard’s starting XI for the trip to St Johnstone.

He opened the scoring in the 55th minute, cutting inside and sweeping a fine right-foot finish past Zander Clark.
“Since Scott has come in, everything we have asked of him he has done really well,” Gerrard is quoted by BBC Sport as saying.
“He is really professional, we are working hard with him on and off the pitch. He is up to speed, he looks ready now to contribute and it was a really tidy finish.
“I thought again he showed some flashes but again there are things he can work on, but so can a lot of other people on tonight’s performance. We are really pleased with Scott.”
Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw in Perth after Wright’s goal was cancelled out by Liam Craig’s injury-time penalty.
Despite the result, the Gers remain unbeaten in the league and are still on course for a points total of 100.
TBR View:
With Wright’s Aberdeen expiring in the summer, he was meant to join the Gers at the end of the season, but it was brought forward for a reported £150,000.
And that fee now looks a bargain, given how quickly the winger has taken to life at Ibrox, and if he continues in the same trajectory, he could well be a first-team fixture next term.
