Rangers are seemingly closing in on the signature of Sheyi Ojo on loan from Liverpool. That is not where the business is expected to end for Steven Gerrard’s side either.
The Glasgow Evening Times also reports that Rangers are confident of concluding deals for Football League stars Joe Aribo and George Edmundson.
The report suggests Aribo, who is out of contract at Charlton Athletic, has plenty of other suitors for his services. Oldham Athletic star Edmundson is also a wanted man. A £600,000 bid has been accepted from Portsmouth for his services – according to the Scottish Sun.
But the Evening Times highlights one major advantage Rangers have in trying to bring the players to Ibrox. Steven Gerrard.
The report states the opportunity to work with the Liverpool legend is ‘a major selling point’ for the duo. Rangers are therefore confident of securing both men and have matched Pompey’s bid for the Oldham defender.
There is no doubt that playing under the guidance of a footballing great like Gerrard will be an entertaining prospect to any young player.
It certainly adds to the reasons why a switch to Ibrox will have to be considered by anyone approached by Rangers this summer.
Rangers fans will hope it continues to be that way as they continue strengthening throughout the summer.
