Steven Gerrard has told Rangers’s official website that Joe Aribo was fantastic as the Gers stormed to yet another victory at Ibrox, as he also outlined just how hard the 24-year-old is working.
The Light Blues have moved a step closer to clinching the Scottish Premiership title. They beat Dundee United 4-1 on Sunday, with Aribo amongst the goalscorers.
It was a thunderous strike from the Nigeria international for his seventh goal of the campaign. And it came after he had already played a key role in Ianis Hagi’s goal that broke the deadlock.
And Gerrard suggested after the full-time whistle that Aribo has got his rewards for how much work he is putting in during the rest of the week.
“It was a fantastic strike, he is really back now,” he told the club’s official website. He was out for a long time, it was his first injury in his career and he had an illness on the back of that so it took him quite some time to get right back in the groove.
“He was fantastic today, not just the goal but his running power, his quick feet and the way he outplays people. He is a fantastic kid, you can’t get him off the training pitch, he’s always working on his game.”

What is so impressive about Aribo is that his quality in the final third only tells part of the story of his performance.
As shown by Whoscored.com, he made four successful tackles. That was twice as many as any of his teammates.
Meanwhile, he also won two aerial duels.
Aribo’s quality has rarely been in doubt since his arrival at Ibrox. However, he has not always managed to string a number of impressive performances together.
But he appears to have turned a corner lately. And it appears that he is going to be a crucial player as Gerrard’s men look to seal their spot in history.
