Steven Gerrard has hailed the impact of Rangers forward Florian Kamberi, who joined the club in the January transfer window on loan from Hibernian.
The 25-year-old moved to Ibrox mid-season to cover for injured star Jermain Defoe and he’s played a back-up role to Alfredo Morelos so far.
Kamberi’s one Gers goal so far came against St Johnstone in the league, but he’s made some lively cameo appearances too and injects some real pace to the forward line.
The Scottish giants are currently preparing to face German opponents Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday night in the first leg of a Europa League last 16 tie.
Gers manager Gerrard has singled out Kamberi as someone who will have a role to play during the two legs.
“Kamberi has brought energy to the team and again you could see his impact, I have been really pleased with him. I’m sure over the course of both games [against Leverkusen] we will need both Morelos and Kamberi at moments,” Gerrard said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

TBR’s View:
Rangers are going to need to pull out their best form of the season to knock out a talented Leverkusen team, but have shown they can raise their game in Europe this season.
It will be interesting to see how Gerrard goes with his team selection for the weekend’s Old Firm clash against Celtic in the league, as that falls in-between the two meetings with Leverkusen.
Morelos is the main centre-forward at Ibrox, but he’s desperately out of form right now and many feel that Kamberi should be getting more of a look-in as he’s been one of the few bright sparks recently.
Albania attacker Kamberi looks likely to be used off the bench on Thursday against Leverkusen and it’s crucial that Rangers get a positive result at home.
