Steven Gerrard has told Rangers’ official YouTube channel that he thought that there were lots of positives to take from their latest win, with Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara producing immense performances.
The Gers have maintained their 16 point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Goals from Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos saw Rangers win 2-0 at St Mirren on Wednesday.
It was a professional performance from the visitors, who kept yet another clean sheet. And they now go into the weekend’s Old Firm game with an opportunity to move 19 points clear of their nearest challengers.
And, while Gerrard was clearly not planning to get carried away with the latest win, he hinted that he was particularly pleased with the displays of two members of his squad.
“There’s a lot of positives to take away. Both number nines have scored a goal. I thought Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara were immense,” he told Rangers’ official YouTube channel.
“I thought they were really good. And we’ve kept another clean sheet. So in the main, we’re happy and we move into the weekend in a good place.”
Aribo really looked a class act throughout the contest. He went on a couple of his superb dribbles. And he was composed when in possession. As shown by Whoscored.com, he completed 41 of the 45 passes he attempted.
Kamara meanwhile, knows exactly how to steal the show in an Old Firm game. So it may be ominous for Celtic that he produced such a superb performance just a few days before the Hoops travel to Ibrox.
