Rangers have enjoyed a memorable season in Gerrard’s third season with the club, winning their 55th Scottish league title and their first in over a decade, as well as enjoying a good run in the UEFA Europa League where the Gers were eliminated in the Round of 16, and Gerrard is keen to build on from this year by bringing in new players that can help elevate the squad.

The former Liverpool captain said: “We’ve got to identify areas of our group and our team where we can help them, where we can get stronger. We’re not the finished article just because we’ve been fantastic in one league campaign and again, we’ve been impressive in Europe. There are still areas and more consistency that we need to strive for.”

This season has been one to remember for Rangers fans, and next year could prove to be even better with the Scottish giants set to compete in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in over 10 years, and this means that Gerrard’s side will need new signings, as well as quality ones.

European football will be seen as an attractive proposition for players that are approached by Rangers, and with Gerrard leading the club to silverware this season, it will only go to further their cause in bulking out the squad with promising talent that can compete both domestically and on the continent.
