Steven Gerrard was appointed the manager at Ibrox with the hope his name and experience will bring in some much-needed quality to a struggling Rangers side.
A number of Liverpool’s youthful prodigies have been reported as being in the fold for a move to Glasgow. However, above all, Gerrard should consider the talents of the highly rated youngster Bobby Adekanye.
Adekanye has been a regular feature for Liverpool’s Under 23 side this season and even scored at Ibrox earlier this season when Gerrard’s under-19 side won 4-1 against Rangers.
The Reds first noticed Adekanye talents back in 2015 when they swooped him from Spanish giants Barcelona and the youngster has been one of their most promising academy prospects since the move.
The Liverpool Echo recently reported on the close relationship Gerrard has established with Adekanye during their time together in the Reds’ Under-19’s.
A switch to Rangers would make perfect sense considering the Reds will try to protect their more established players such as Harry Wilson and Ben Woodburn.
It would not be a record or big signing for the Gers, but Adekanye represents the gamble they have to make within their financial limitations. On loan, he would be worth the risk and a real coup for the Scotish side.
