Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has admitted the ball is in Liverpool’s court regarding a deal to sign Ryan Kent again for next season.
The Liverpool winger was a key player at Ibrox last season. The 22-year-old scored six goals and provided nine assists in an outstanding season in Glasgow. Kent became a fan favourite at Ibrox, especially because of his performances in the Old Firm derby clashes.
That form has attracted the interest of several clubs in the English Championship.

Therefore, Liverpool are believed to be open to a permanent sale of the player. Unfortunately for Gerrard and Rangers, the Liverpool Echo reports that his valuation is at £12 million.
Rangers cannot afford such a fee. Gerrard has confirmed this over the weekend. As quoted by the Scottish Sun, the former England international admitted he’s waiting on a phone call to see if Rangers can bring Kent in again on loan.
“The only way we’ll have a conversation is if Liverpool phone and say he’s available to go on loan.
“I would be repeating myself if I said that we want him. I’ve made that pretty clear.
“But that situation is in Liverpool’s hands at the moment.”
So there is still hope of Kent returning to Ibrox next season. The attacker has just rejoined pre-season training on Merseyside and will be aiming to impress Jurgen Klopp.
But if no suitable offers arrive from England, Liverpool could easily find themselves deciding to send Kent back to Ibrox again.
If Gerrard’s phone does ring, you can bet Rangers’ boss will snap his former club’s hand off to bring Kent back to Glasgow.
