Steven Bergwijn drops Tottenham return hint on Instagram

Tottenham take on Aston Villa today in their final game before the international break, as they look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

A confidence boosting win, including a hat-trick for Harry Kane, against Mura in midweek should have lifted the mood a bit for Spurs. Last weekend’s mauling at the hands of Arsenal had, as we know, left a sour taste in the mouth.

Spurs have a few injury worries ahead of the Villa game. The likes of Ben Davies, Ryan Sessegnon, and Steven Bergwijn are all expected to miss out once again.

However, speedy Dutch winger Bergwijn has hinted on his Instagram that a return might not be far away. The £27m man posted a teasing picture on his story, with the egg-timer emoji suggesting he isn’t far off a comeback.

What-If EVERY Premier League Team Was A Country

Bergwijn has been missing for Spurs ever since the last international break and will be disappointed looking on from the sidelines.

He had been doing well for Nuno Santo, offering pace and power on the counter-attack for Tottenham.

TBR’s View: Bergwijn can be a key player for Tottenham

While Bergwijn has only delivered in moments since he arrived, he had started to tick along nicely since Santo’s appointment.

His injury was a blow to Spurs at the time and they could actually do with his speed and directness at the moment.

You sense it’s a huge day for Tottenham. Villa are a good side but if they can a win before the break, it will change the entire mood of the club.
