Arsenal face Aston Villa this weekend in one of the most hotly-anticipated games of the season so far.

The Gunners and the Villans both have claims to stake for being genuine title contenders right now, and this game is incredibly tough to call.

On one hand, Arsenal have been the best team in the league this season, but, on the other hand, Aston Villa have been unbeatable at home.

It would take a brave man to predict this game, but speaking on Peter Crouch’s podcast, Steve Sidwell has stuck his neck on the line with quite a bold call.

Not only has Sidwell tipped Villa to win this one, he’s claimed that they are going to win comfortably, tipping a 3-1 scoreline.

The pundit gave his verdict on how this game is going to go.

You boys aren’t going to believe what I’m going to say. I’m going to go 3-1 Villa. I think they are going to put them to bed. I think Arsenal are going to go there and it’s just not going to come together. The keeper situation is still a bit fluffy. I think they [Villa] are going to win kind of convincingly.

Favourites

As strange as it may sound, Aston Villa might actually be coming into this game as favourites.

The Villans are on an incredible winning run at home, and after battering Manchester City in midweek, it’s hard to see anyone bringing that run to an end.

Of course, Arsenal aren’t going to just roll over here, but when Villa are at their very best, there may not be a team in the world at the moment capable of beating Unai Emery’s side at Villa Park.

This should be a cracking match that could have huge ramifications on the title race.
