Arne Slot has enjoyed a fantastic start to life as Liverpool manager and has spearheaded the club to nine wins from ten games across all competitions this season.
Liverpool find themselves at the top of the Premier League table and have also won each of their two games in Europe, making them one of the most in-form teams in the continent.
The Dutchman has imprinted his philosophy at the club in double quick time and the players seem to be responding well to his methods, which is a sign that the Liverpool hierarchy made the right choice to appoint him as Jurgen Klopp’s successor.
As the Reds sit pretty at the summit ahead of crunch games against Chelsea and Arsenal on the horizon after the international break, Steve Nicol has singled out Slot for special praise.
Steve Nicol lauds Liverpool manager Arne Slot

Liverpool were expected to undergo a bit of a transition after Klopp’s departure. While that has happened – with the Reds adopting a slightly different brand of football – they’ve kept winning games to pick up some early-season momentum.
Nicol praised Slot for his confidence and demeanor, with the Dutchman enjoying the best-ever start of any Liverpool manager in history.
“I can’t turn around and say I expected it [nine wins out of ten],” said Nicol on ESPN UK.
“Most of us including myself were expecting some teething problems. Clearly, there was going to be some sort of a shift from Jurgen Klopp to Arne Slot but they’ve managed to do it while winning games and that’s the key.

“And how secure does Arne Slot sound? He’s saying all the right things and is really confident. He’s not afraid to say what a great squad he’s been left behind by Klopp.
“He really sounds like a guy who knows what he’s doing and what he’s talking about. He wants to be remembered for what happens at the end of the season when they are picking up trophies.”

Liverpool’s decision to appoint Slot has already been vindicated
In what was a tumultuous summer for the Reds, a new hierarchy was put in place before their search for a new manager began as Michael Edwards returned to the club as FSG’s Director of Football, while Richard Hughes was appointed at the club’s Sporting Director.
The pair worked in tandem to appoint Slot and while it’s still early doors, it looks like an inspired decision.
The Dutchman certainly looks the part and has been relatively unfazed by the size of the club, while he doesn’t seem to be carrying the burden of filling into Klopp’s shoes.
Liverpool sit pretty at the summit and could really lay down the marker for the rest of the season if they manage to get positive results against Chelsea and Arsenal.
