Steve Nicol has told ESPN that Caoimhin Kelleher has been the biggest find amid all of Liverpool’s struggles with injuries so far this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have had to deal with a large number of setbacks this term. They have lost key men such as Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to long-term injuries.

Alisson is another player who has been sidelined in recent times. It looked a safe bet to assume that Adrian would come in while the Brazilian was out.
However, Klopp handed Kelleher a Champions League debut for the tie with Ajax. The 22-year-old also went into the fixture having not played at all so far this season. However, he produced a colossal performance as the Reds booked their ticket to the knockout stages.

He went on to keep another clean sheet after retaining his place for the game with Wolves at the weekend. And he looked impressive once again on Wednesday in the draw with Midtjylland.
And after watching his latest display, Nicol insisted that he has been very encouraged by what he has seen from the young goalkeeper.
“The fact that they’ve had some injuries has meant that he’s had to blood some players, and I’m thinking in particular, the goalkeeper Kelleher, who, in my opinion, has been a real find,” he told ESPN. “Now it seems that Liverpool have a real bonafide backup to Alisson in goal.”
As Nicol notes, it does appear that Kelleher is now second choice ahead of Adrian. He has shown that he can do well in both the Premier League and Champions League.
Of course, Liverpool fans will hope that he is not needed too often once Alisson does return. But he has shown that he has the ability to step up whenever he is called upon.
