Steve Nicol has claimed that he would sign Brighton’s Yves Bissouma this summer if he were Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Bissouma, 24, is a highly rated central midfielder that has just completed an excellent individual season in the Premier League with 16th-placed Brighton.
According to the Times, Liverpool have made contact with Brighton about the availability of the Mali international.
It is explained that Arsenal and Manchester City have also been in touch as well as Marseille.
The report states he could be signed if the £30million price tag is met.
Liverpool-supporting pundit Nicol named Bissouma as the man the Merseyside club need to sign to fill the void of Georginio Wijnaldum following his departure.
“Go and sign Bissouma from Brighton. That’s who I would sign if I were Klopp,” Nicol told ESPN.

Bissouma perfect for Liverpool
As Liverpool search for a Wijnaldum replacement, it’s going to be difficult recruiting someone to make the same kind of impact he did in the starting XI.
However, Bissouma may be one of the few individuals around with the same kind of energy levels.
Brighton’s all-action central midfielder has stood out in a positive way in most games this season and definitely seems ready to make the step up with a transfer to an elite club.
His technique, stamina and defensive qualities make him perfect for Jurgen Klopp’s side, which is why they should jump to the front of the queue to bring him to Anfield.
