Liverpool legend Steve McManaman believes that Alisson Becker had arguably his worst game for the Reds against Manchester City on Sunday.
The 28-year-old has mostly been sensational for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds since joining the Anfield side from Roma in 2018 for a then world-record fee for a goalkeeper.
Alisson has helped Liverpool win the Premier League, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Supercup.

However, he struggled in Sunday’s big game against Pep Guardiola’s side, gave away possession in dangerous positions and gifting City their second and third goals.
Alisson gave the ball away to Phil Foden, who bore down on goal and picked out Ilkay Gundogan to tuck home.
He later passed the ball to Silva just inside the corner of the Liverpool area, culminating in a cross at the far post which was headed into the net by Raheem Sterling.
“The goalkeeper has possibly had the worst game that anybody has seen (from him) – certainly in the Premier League, and for Liverpool,” McManaman said on Optus Sport.
“They get back in the game, 1-1, and inexplicably puts the game out of Liverpool’s reach with amateurish mistakes. It was very unlike him.”
TBR View:
What a shame it was to see Alisson, one of the world’s best goalkeepers, have such an off day in such an important clash, one which has all-but ruled the Reds out of the title race.
He’ll come back from this, without a doubt, and it’s not as if he was the only Reds player to disappoint on the day.
It’s been a nightmare season for Liverpool on so many fronts, and now Klopp must look to regroup his players in a bid to keep hold of a top four place and advance in the Champions League.
