Steve McManaman was left surprised by what Joe Gomez and Caoimhin Kelleher did as Liverpool took on Sparta Prague tonight.
The 52-year-old was speaking on commentary duty for TNT Sports.
So, what did Caoimhin Kelleher and Joe Gomez do to shock Steve McManaman? Let’s take a look…
Joe Gomez and Caoimhin Kelleher stun Steve McManaman
Well, Liverpool appeared to be in for an easy night after a penalty from Alexis Mac Allister put the Reds ahead in the 6th minute.
However, Lukáš Haraslín almost made it 1-1 in the 14th minute after finding himself free at the back post, only for Kelleher to swiftly stick a hand out and take most of the power off the shot.
Despite that, the ball was still heading goalwards, but Gomez acrobatically pulled off a bicycle kick to thwart the Sparta Prague No.22 while also somehow finding a way to get possession back into the Irishman’s gloves.
After seeing the Liverpool duo combine superbly to keep Sparta Prague out, McManaman said: “They somehow keep it out, brilliant from the pair of them.”

It was a remarkable stop from Kelleher in the first place, as Haraslín seemed destined to score, and Gomez also deserves huge credit for not giving up on the ball.
Liverpool must be delighted with Caoimhin Kelleher
When a goalkeeper as special as Alisson Becker suffers a serious injury – during a Premier League title race no less – most fanbases would probably give up hope.
However, the stunning displays of Kelleher have meant the Brazilian’s name has hardly been mentioned.
The Republic of Ireland international made a string of superb saves to help Liverpool record a 1-0 win over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final, memorably denying Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher.

Kelleher has also delivered composed, assured and professional displays in the Premier League as Liverpool pick up four successive wins against Burnley, Brentford, Luton and Nottingham Forest with the Irishman in goal.
If the Liverpool No.62 maintains this form, Klopp may well end his final campaign at Anfield with more than just the Carabao Cup.
