Steve Bruce has given his thoughts on the ability of certain players within his Newcastle squad to deal with the intensity of the Premier League.
As per the Chronicle, he named new-boy Emil Krafth as someone who may take a great deal of time to adapt, having moved to Newcastle from French outfit Amiens.
He said: “Muto is one where this season he can adapt. A lot of players find it difficult. You see how physically demanding [it is]. For Muto it is the same.
“Even for Emil Krafth or any of the players who have not played in the Premier League. You have to adapt to this country. I have been to France and Spain – at times you can fall asleep in terms of tempo.”

TBR’s View – Newcastle’s transfer policy doesn’t help players bed in
Krafth may well struggle to get up to the pace of the Premier League, but Newcastle’s postering over getting a cheap deal doesn’t help players settle in.
That’s because the negotiations drag out, robbing players of precious pre-season time they can use to get physically ready, as well as attuned with the tactical demands of their new manager and meet their team-mates.
Bruce should also know that bedding in periods are part of the process when buying from abroad. He doesn’t appear frustrated, but it’s clear that this may limit the impact the new-boys can have on the squad.
