Aston Villa fans will be pretty pleased with how their side’s Premier League season has gone so far, with two wins and a loss to Arsenal.
Unai Emery shocked Aston Villa‘s rivals by securing Champions League football with last season’s finish, and the Midlands club’s reward is to play Bayern Munich and Juventus, as well as other clubs.
The Villans will need to improve defensively as they’re yet to keep a clean sheet this season.
One thing that went particularly well was the summer transfer window. Eight new faces made their way to Villa Park as the club’s owners look to give Emery a squad that can challenge at the highest level.
Darren Bent even wanted Arsenal to sign Amadou Onana, who made the move to the Midlands for around £50 million as a marquee signing this summer.
However, it was a former star who was the topic on TalkSPORT recently as Steve Bruce revealed an old Jack Grealish story…
Steve Bruce reveals what Aston Villa legend used to do to Jack Grealish in training
Jack Grealish left boyhood club Aston Villa in 2021 as he joined Manchester City in a deal worth around £100m.
The Englishman made 213 appearances for the Villans, scoring 32 goals and laying on 41 assists after coming through the academy.
And, during his early days at Aston Villa, Steve Bruce has recalled an incident involving Gabriel Agbonlahor and Jack Grealish in training when talking on TalkSPORT.
Agbonlahor stated.
“Until I was kicking Jack before a game on a Friday when we done old v young. You used to tell me off. I was kicking Jack every Friday”.
Bruce replied.
“I know you used to pick on Grealish I have to tell you though, I used to have to say leave him alone for goodness sake”.

How good was Gabriel Agbonlahor at Aston Villa?
The Englishman made 391 appearances for the Villans, scoring 86 and providing 54 assists for his teammates.
Agbonlahor currently holds Aston Villa’s Premier League record for goals with 74.
Anyone who had the pleasure of watching him play knows the kind of quality he possessed. His electrifying pace and eye for goal made him one of the most dangerous striker in England.
Hilariously, Agbonlahor himself even claimed that he was faster than the rain after clocking in at 21mph when talking on TalkSPORT.
