Newcastle striker Andy Carroll only trains twice a week according to his manager Steve Bruce, as quoted by the Sun.
Bruce said that Carroll only takes part on Tuesdays and Thursdays as the wait for his first start since his return to the Magpies goes on.
He said: “Andy has got his schedule now. He trains for two days. On Tuesday we have a big physical day and on Thursday he comes to the fore. Hopefully, in the next week or two weeks, he will be in a position where we can start him.
“If we can keep him fit, that’s the big challenge for everyone. He’s had four weeks where he’s played. We all know what a very good player he is – we just have to keep him on the pitch. So far, so good.”

TBR’s View – Carroll needs to start making a meaningful impact
Joelinton is getting pelters for being out on the pitch every week, giving his all in a new league in front of a team which don’t create many chances.
And while he needs to improve, at least he’s in a position where he can train every day and offer a lot more than Carroll currently is.
But Carroll is adored by the supporters, because of his connections to the club previously. To justify that, he needs to start making a meaningful contribution on the pitch – starting games and scoring goals.
