Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce is reportedly considering changes to his team ahead of the weekend and he needs to be bold with his selection to send out a statement to the squad.
The Magpies travel to the King Power Stadium on Sunday to face Leicester City and will be looking to improve on an underwhelming start to the new season.
According to the Daily Star, Bruce will make changes at the weekend from the team that drew 0-0 with Brighton in the last match.
It is understood that Miguel Almiron is potentially facing the axe due to his poor form.
The report explains that Bruce is “toying with the idea” of withdrawing the 25-year-old attacker from the starting XI.

Newcastle paid £20million (BBC) to sign Almiron in January and he’s been an ever-present in the starting XI for league games, asides from his debut and also the three matches he missed last season with a hamstring problem.
The Paraguay international has started every league fixture so far this campaign, but it’s not quite happening for him in front of goal and he looks low on confidence.
He’s a speed machine with a lot of potential, but he has no goals or no assists in 16 games for Newcastle since he joined.
It would be brave for Bruce to pull him out of the firing line considering the money spent on him, but he needs a wake-up call and shown that he has to earn his spot.
Allan Saint-Maximin should replace him in the team against Leicester and bringing on the pace of Almiron to torment tired legs in the second-half could help spark his Newcastle career into life.
