Steve Bruce has offered his thoughts about Newcastle’s new signing Ryan Fraser, and insisted he can become a crowd favourite at St. James’ Park.
Fraser sealed his moved to the northeast last week, following his former Bournemouth teammate Callum Wilson to the Toon Army.

Having run down his contract at the Vitality Stadium, Fraser joined Newcastle as a free agent, which has been seen by many as excellent business by the club.
Hopes are high that Fraser can increase the team’s productivity in attack, and Bruce certainly seems pleased about the acquisition.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Newcastle’s Carabao Cup clash with Blackburn Rovers, he said (Chronicle Live): “He’s a bit of an old-fashioned type – he’s all pace and power.
“He’s only small but he’s electrifying with his pace and power.
“When he gets the ball, he’s got one thing in his mind – he wants to beat you. He’s one of them who will be a big crowd favourite. I’m sure he will.”

Bruce added that Fraser didn’t feature against West Ham United due to having hardly played since March. He is in line to feature against Blackburn tonight though.
TBR’s View – Fraser can light up St. James’
Bruce is right – Fraser has all the tools to be able to become a very popular figure at St. James’.
Allan Saint-Maximin is already a firm favourite for the way he exudes flair on the pitch and Fraser has the potential to excite in the same way.
He has every chance to succeed, playing without any pressure of a transfer fee and linking up with his pal Wilson in the final third.
