Stephen Warnock has pinpointed the importance of Leeds United centre-forward Kemar Roofe and believes he’s integral to a Championship promotion push this season.
The 25-year-old has managed to cement his spot as the first-choice striker under manager Marcelo Bielsa and has scored five goals in nine appearances already this campaign.
He’s seen his campaign disrupted already by injury, but he’s back in the starting XI now and will be looking to help the Whites remain at the top of the league.
“He’s (Roofe) a great player, he’s really kicked on,” Warnock told the Express.
“He maybe found things tough last season but that was bound to happen.
“Everybody has been surprised at how well he had adapted during his second season at the club. He’ll be central to how their season goes.”

It’s true that Roofe is one of the most important players at Elland Road and if he stays fit he’ll surely finish as Leeds’ top scorer.
But stats prove that the Yorkshire giants have goals right throughout their team and aren’t just relying on their main centre-forward.
Leeds have six players already this season that have scored three or more goals in all competitions, which is exactly the kind of boost that can fire a team to promotion.
They now have genuine goalscoring options in the midfield area, while centre-back Cooper has found a knack too by chipping in with three goals so far.
Bielsa still has striker Patrick Bamford to return to the fold from his long-term injury and it’s refreshing for Leeds to have so many options in front of goal that will hit form at different times.
