Sunderland trio Charlie Wyke, Lynden Gooch and Grant Leadbitter have been praised by Stephen Elliott as the Black Cats impressed at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday night.
Phil Parkinson’s charges made it two wins in a row and three unbeaten after running out 2-1 winners over Ipswich on Wearside.
Wyke opened the scoring on eight minutes with his seventh goal of the season, and fourth in Sunderland’s last six League One games.

The 27-year-old connected with Gooch’s pinpoint pass to feet, held off Mark McGuinness and slotted home from eight yards out.
Jack Lankester levelled for the visitors on 38 minutes, but in the second half, Andre Dozzell was sent off for a two-footed challenge on Leadbitter.
Sunderland then retook the lead five minutes from time when McGuinness handled in the box, and Leadbitter made no mistake from 12 yards.
With Wyke and Leadbitter getting on the scoresheet and Gooch providing a great pass for the big striker, Elliott had kind words for all three.
Sunderland, who are currently sixth in the table, will now take a break from league action and focus on cup competition.
Mansfield come to the Stadium of Light in the FA Cup this weekend before the Black Cats face a trip to Fleetwood in the EFL trophy on Tuesday night.
Sunderland’s next league game is on Saturday 14 November, against MK Dons on Wearside.
