Aston Villa will be playing Championship football again next season, after failing to win the play-off final against Fulham. It means a third season in a row in the second-tier and, for the fans and players, it was a bitter blow. However, not all the players will be too disappointed. For some, staying in the Championship could be the best thing for their respective careers.

As reported by The Mirror, Aston Villa will now look to sell many of their big-name players to balance the books at the club. The likes of Albert Adomah, Jonathan Kodjia and Jack Grealish have all been spoken of as potential departees.

For a player like Callum O’Hare, this could be the perfect scenario.

Had Villa have won promotion, more new faces would have likely arrived. On top of that, the big names would have remained. The result for a player like O’Hare would have been another season on the sidelines.

But the Solihull-born creator is now ready to make the step up, and be a more regular presence in the Aston Villa first-team.

The attacking midfielder has shown on numerous occasions he has the talent to be a regular for Villa. Last season he played just four times in the Championship and fans were not happy to see him constantly being overlooked.

However, if big names do depart, O’Hare will be ready to take their place in the starting XI. In particular, he could be a perfect replacement for Jack Grealish should he make an expected exit from the club.

Aston Villa are set to tighten the purse strings this summer but, yet again, there will be plenty of youngsters waiting for their chance at Villa Park. O’Hare should be the first one in the queue.
