Newcastle came away with a point from Crystal Palace today as Callum Wilson scored to ensure Graeme Jones came away with something in his first game in charge.

After a topsy-turvy week, all eyes were on Jones and the Newcastle players at Palace. But things threatened to come unstuck completely, as Christian Benteke scored to leave that all too familiar feeling among the Toon Army.

But Wilson, who has been one of the success stories of the Mike Ashley era, scored a fine goal to level the scores up. And while Newcastle had VAR to thank late on for ensuring the point, the performance overall from Wilson was impressive.
