'Starter next season': These Celtic fans excited by prospect after van Dijk comparison

With only the Scottish Cup left to play for this season, it’s natural that Celtic supporters are looking towards the next campaign.

Several players will depart, either as a result of their loan deals expiring or transfer fees coming in. A number of new players will arrive, not to mention a new manager.

There is, however, one man already on the Celtic Park books who could step up to the plate.

Leo Hjelde has impressed for Ross County since joining on loan in January. Not The Old Firm report that there was interest from Premier League side Leeds United prior to his loan move, and if the latest comments from Staggies boss John Hughes are anything to go by much is expected of the 17-year-old.

Celtic fans left short-changed by Sky Sports once again

He’s yet to make his debut for Celtic, but the Norwegian could soon get his chance.

As reported by Not The Old Firm, Hughes believes Hjelde can be considered “the next (Virgil) van Dijk“.

These Celtic supporters are clearly enthusiastic.
