Leeds United secured a well-earned draw at Preston North End yesterday evening. Despite dominating much of the game, Leeds were caught out on the counter-attack when Tom Barkhuizen slotted home Sean Maguire’s right-wing cross.

In the end, Leeds had their super-sub Eddie Nketiah to thank for taking a point from Deepdale.

The Arsenal loanee looped home a superb header to secure a draw and it has the debate once again raging regarding his place in the Leeds squad.

Plenty of fans want Nketiah to start games ahead of current first-choice Patrick Bamford. Whilst they appreciate the work-rate of Bielsa’s current preferred choice his finishing has been poor this season.

Nketiah, on the other hand, is on fire. Including goals fro the England under-21s, he is now on 10 goals for the season from 17 appearances.

Undoubtedly, one of his Arsenal idols is of the firm belief Nketiah should be starting. Responding to Leeds United’s The Athletic journalist Phil Hay, Ian Wright made it clear that he feels Nketiah deserves his chance in the starting XI.

It is already proving to be the hot topic debate for Leeds this season. Rumours began to swirl last week that if Leeds do not start giving Nketiah more minutes they may even see his loan deal cut short.

But Bielsa clearly feels the dynamic of the team is better when Bamford starts.

So going forward, it will be interesting who starts when Leeds face Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.
