Stan Collymore is predicting big things from Aston Villa’s summer signing Wesley Moraes in the new Premier League season.
The Midlands giants have been extremely busy in the summer window, which included spending £22million (Sky Sports) on striker Wesley from Club Brugge.
Wesley impressed in Belgium last season, scoring 17 goals and supplying 10 assists in 48 games across all competitions.
The Brazilian centre-forward is a real powerhouse with immense strength and he’s a decent finisher too.
He’s had a taste of Champions League football and has moved to the Premier League to continue his career.
Collymore is impressed by what he’s seen from the 22-year-old in Villa’s pre-season and is tipping him for a strong campaign.
“Villa needed a huge rebuild and I think new club-record £22m Brazilian striker Wesley Moraes will excite fans,” Collymore wrote in the Mirror.
“He has a great first touch and turns and moves the ball off the line very well.”

TBR’s View:
With Tammy Abraham’s loan spell ending at Villa this summer, it was vital that manager Dean Smith found a suitable replacement.
Wesley certainly has all the potential to be a hit in the Premier League and aged 22 he looks a wise investment made by the club.
He should have no problem dealing with the physicality, but it’s vital that he gets off to a strong start and also brings his teammates into play in attacking areas.
