Stan Collymore criticises Jose Mourinho impact at Tottenham

Stan Collymore has delivered a rant on Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho and believes he’s had very little impact since his appointment as the club’s manager midway through the season.

The experienced Portuguese boss replaced Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs in November and has just completed two months in the job.

He’s taken charge of 15 games so far in all competitions for the North London club and had seven victories.

But he’s also had to settle for three draws and already has five defeats during his time in the job.

They are currently eight points adrift of the Champions League positions in the Premier League table and it’s vital they get a result at home to Norwich City on Wednesday night to end a run of four league games without a victory.

Pundit Collymore isn’t impressed by the impact of Mourinho so far at his new club after two months at the helm and feels he isn’t getting the criticism he deserves.

“When will Jose Mourinho start to get the criticism he deserves?” Collymore wrote in the Mirror.

“He has added zero to Tottenham since taking over from Mauricio Pochettino but for some reason everyone is talking about him getting a January war chest. Why?”

TBR’s View:

There hasn’t been too much change overall at Spurs since Mourinho’s arrival, as they are still leaking goals in defence and look a shadow of the team they have been in recent years.

But in fairness they have lost star centre-forward Harry Kane at least until April through injury and there is a squad that needs breaking up a little.

Mourinho could do with a couple of windows to put a new stamp on the Spurs group, as there are so many players that have been through a journey together in the last five years and just missed out on getting over the line for trophies.

It’s far too soon for supporters to start panicking about the managerial appointment and they should be patient.
