The transfer window may have only just closed, but Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly already making plans for next summer, with the Daily Mirror recently naming Kalvin Phillips as a target for the end of the season.
Phillips has made a bright start to life in the Premier League with Leeds United. He is also a player with a handful of England caps now under his belt.

The Mirror reported that Spurs are monitoring the 24-year-old, who the Whites value at £50 million.
Of course, Tottenham fans will point out there is a long way to go until the summer. Meanwhile, the Mirror added that Liverpool are also admirers of the Leeds man.
So there looks to be a lot of hurdles to clear before Phillips ends up in North London.
Nevertheless, there may be one Spurs player who monitors the situation with Phillips very closely over the coming months.

Oliver Skipp continues to impress out on loan at Norwich City having left Tottenham in the summer. It does appear that Spurs have high hopes for Skipp. And his time at Carrow Road has the potential to be incredibly beneficial as he looks to make the grade with his parent club.
But Phillips joining next summer would arguably prove to be a blow to his chances of establishing himself in Tottenham’s side.
Jose Mourinho’s men will be looking to battle on four fronts next term. So there will likely be opportunities for both.
But with Phillips set to cost at least £50 million, he will surely start the campaign as first-choice should he join the club.
Phillips is a few years older than Skipp. But he is reaching an age where he should be about to enjoy potentially the best years of his career.
Skipp may therefore, be wary of watching his development stagnate somewhat. After a loan spell in the Championship, the next stage of Skipp’s career would surely be to play fairly regularly at the highest level.
Perhaps a loan to a top flight rival could be on the cards if Phillips arrives. But that will not permanently put to bed questions over what long-term role Skipp may enjoy at Tottenham if the Leeds man ends up joining.
