A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have welcomed the report claiming Serge Aurier is expected to be back for Spurs on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho’s charges travel to current Premier League leaders Manchester City for a 5:30pm kickoff.

Aurier missed the FA Cup fifth-round defeat to Everton through injury, but the Evening Standard claims he’ll face a late fitness test and should be available.

Matt Doherty was in action for Tottenham against the Toffees but failed to make an impression in the final third and his crossing was often wayward.

In addition, he was also one of two players caught too deep for Bernard’s winning goal.

As a result, the prospect of Aurier taking over from Doherty is one that some Spurs fans are happy about, as per the below social media comments:

Aurier has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season, including 13 in the Premier League.

Tottenham will be hoping to make it two consecutive wins in the top flight after seeing off West Brom 2-0 last weekend.
