Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kieran Trippier has not been in top form this season. In fact, he has regressed, if anything.
Since handing the nation hope of reaching a World Cup Final with a stunning free-kick against Croatia, Trippier has struggled with a crisis of confidence.
His form this season for Spurs has been patchy at best and that must represent a cause for concern for boss Mauricio Pochettino.

With Spurs having not signed a player for the last two transfer windows, it seems likely that a foray will be made into the market this summer.
Some firm competition for Trippier is a necessity on current form.
One man who should be courted by Spurs is Norwich City right-back Max Aarons.
The 19-year-old was linked with a move to Pochettino’s team during January, according to The Sun, but nothing came to fruition.
Aarons is a real start of the future.
He has played 31 games in all competitions for the Canaries this season, proving instrumental in their rise to the Championship’s summit.
The man with four England u19 caps seems unlikely to remain at Carrow Road next season and Spurs should do all they can to pounce.
With some serious competition for Trippier’s place then his form might just improve somewhat.

Serge Aurier has provided Pochettino the backup this season but he’s not really proved adequate.
Aarons is at the age where he is still learning and Spurs should sign him this summer to avoid one of their rivals stealing a march.
