Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski has urged the Sweden national team bring in a manager like Ange Postecoglou.
The Spurs ace was talking to Fotboll Skanalen ahead of his nation’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Estonia, after which their head coach will step down.
Janne Andersson will be relinquishing the reins and a manager will be coming in. And Kulusevski wants Sweden to look Tottenham as a perfect example of how to move on.
The Spurs man’s nation has endured a nightmarish Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, which included a 3-0 loss at Azerbaijan.

Sweden have been eliminated after finishing third in Group F, a whole 10 points behind second-placed Belgium.
Tottenham were equally dire last season, finishing eighth in the table to miss out on European football altogether.
However, Postecoglou has quickly rallied Spurs round and they’re now looking capable of clinching a top-four finish.
‘I’m hungry as hell’
Kulusevski acknowledges that things have been doing downhill for Sweden, but with a Postecoglou-type figure in the dugout, they can turn things round.
“I’m hungry as hell,” he said. “Things have been going badly for quite a long period.
“Since the Nations League, things have gone downhill. But that doesn’t mean it will be like that in the future.
“When playing football, the most important thing is to fall back on a game idea. Because anything can happen in a football match. A guy scored from 80 meters last Thursday.
“The important thing is that you can fall back on a game idea and know what to do. We need to be completely clear about exactly what we want to do and that we are working on it.
“It’s a little like we have it in Tottenham. Don’t look at the result, don’t look at the time.
“Do what we’re supposed to do. Follow the game idea. It’s just see the difference between Tottenham this season and last season.
“It’s the exact same players, we’ve only made a few changes, but the team is 100 times better.
“It’s thanks to a game idea. It’s not that the players have gotten better. We have a clear idea, and we know what we want from each other.
“It’s probably the best thing for a team, to have a game idea and execute it.”
Ange Postecoglou now seen as a role model amid Tottenham heroics
It’s good to hear Kulusevski use Postecoglou as a shining example of how a head coach can turn things around so quickly with a squad.
Let’s hope Sweden can find someone who can deliver the Ange effect to one of the staples of international tournament football.
