Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison has told ESPN Brasil that Spurs boss Antonio Conte will fix his “mistakes”.

The 25-year-old has been in impressive form for Tottenham and the Selecao in recent weeks.

Richarlison quickly fought his way into Conte’s reckoning since joining Spurs from Everton in summer.

The Brazilian is now giving the Spurs boss a selection headache as part of an exciting attacking selection at N17.

As well as Richarlison, Conte can call on Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski.

Likewise, the Tottenham summer signing has been in superb form for Brazil.

Richarlison has 16 goals from 37 Selecao outings, including three in his last two.

He netted Brazil’s second in this week’s 5-1 win over Tunisia, plus a brace in the 3-0 win over Ghana last week.

Speaking after the Tunisia game, Richarlison vowed to keep improving under Conte.

“I’m on the right track,” he told ESPN Brasil.

“Of course, I still need to improve things, and Professor Conte will fix my mistakes there.”

Richarlison also discussed criticism from pundits in his native Brazil as he prepares to lead the line at the World Cup.

“Every time I come here, I score goals,” he added.

“It seems that people from Brazil do not watch us in Europe.

“We work hard there too, do our serious work there, score goals. And that’s why I got in the squad. It’s about staying focused.”

FIFA to investigate racist abuse incident

The Tunisia game was overshadowed by an episode of racist abuse.

A banana was hurled from the stands at the striker as he celebrated the goal.

Richarlison said racism would continue if there was no punishment handed out.

“As long as they keep ‘blah blah blah’ and don’t punish, it’s going to continue like this, happening every day and in every corner,” he said, as per Sky Sports.

FIFA, world football’s governing body, issued a statement on Wednesday.

“First and foremost, FIFA strongly rejects any form of racism and violence and has a very clear zero tolerance stance against such behaviour in football,” they wrote.

“FIFA will investigate the incident in yesterday’s game in Paris.”
