Spurs bid for Stones
Tottenham Hotspur made a bid to sign John Stones on loan from Manchester City with a view to signing the centre-back permanently for £20 million, according to the Daily Mail’s live transfer blog (5/10; 11:22).
Unfortunately for Spurs, Stones has decided that he wants to stay with the Cityzens until he is told that he is free to leave.

Dele set to stay
Another player who looks set to stay exactly where he is this summer is Dele Alli. The Sun have reported on their live transfer blog (5/10; 10:19) that the midfielder is not expected to leave before the deadline passes.
Paris Saint-Germain have had two bids for Dele rejected. And Tottenham and Jose Mourinho are reportedly expecting the Englishman to be a part of their squad moving forward.

No new defenders needed
It appears that missing out on Stones may have prompted Mourinho to accept defeat in his quest to sign a new defender.
The Telegraph has reported on its live blog (5/10; 9:02) that the Spurs boss is now happy with his options at the back.
It is noted that Inter Milan would prefer to not sell Milan Skriniar and Chelsea would rather loan Antonio Rudiger to another club.
Sessegnon seals move
Finally, Ryan Sessegnon has completed his move away from Spurs. The 20-year-old has joined Hoffenheim on loan for the rest of the season.
