Spurs reportedly confident of signing 'incredible' 22-year-old who's been compared to Frenkie de Jong

Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a fruitful transfer window, bringing in six new players.

However, Spurs are seemingly looking for more signings, and even have an eye on future windows.

According to Ghana Web, Tottenham are optimistic they can sign Ajax starlet Mohammed Kudus.

Spurs reportedly hope they can do a relatively simple deal with the Eredivisie giants this summer.

Failing that, Tottenham are apparently willing to wait until next summer to strike a deal over Kudus.

Antonio Conte is believed to have had his scouts watching the Ghana international since the turn of the year.

Kudus joined Ajax from FC Nordsjaelland two years ago and has already made 43 appearances for the Dutch giants.

The 22-year-old has 43 appearances, six goals, four assists, two Eredivisie titles and one Dutch Cup to his name.

Kudus – who cost Ajax £8.1million – has also won 16 caps for Ghana and has scored five goals.

Can Spurs land “incredible talent”?

Predominantly a central midfielder, he can fill in pretty much anywhere between the number six and ten positions.

Erik ten Hag has previously described Kudus as an “incredible talent“.

And Ajax’s Daley Blind has compared his club teammate to Barcelona and Netherlands ace Frenkie de Jong.

“He can play a man and make a gear,” Blind told Ajax TV in 2020, via Football Ghana.

“He is quite a bit like Frenkie in that respect.

“You can just see that he has a lot of quality. I think he will certainly help us on our way. He is a good player.”

Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Harry Winks are all expected to leave Tottenham this summer.

Kudus would be a great addition to the Spurs ranks and a replacement for any of those.

And as Tottenham sold Steven Bergwijn to Ajax earlier this summer, it may not be difficult to do business with them again.
