Spurs predicted XI v West Brom: Jose Mourinho hands 23-year-old full debut, £28m man returns

Tottenham Hotspur will look to make it three wins in a row in all competitions when they head to West Brom in the Premier League on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho’s Spurs have won 10 of 14 matches in all competitions so far this season and sit third in the table, two points off Liverpool, ahead of their trip to the West Midlands.

The North Londoners will be up against a newly-promoted side winless in seven matches and sitting in the bottom three, one point behind 17th-placed Fulham.

Tottenham are expected to have Sergio Reguilon back from illness after he missed the Europa League win over Ludogorets in midweek.

Erik Lamela and Serge Aurier also missed out with knocks, and only the latter is thought to be in contention to feature at the Hawthorns.

So, who could Mourinho pick in his starting XI for the game?

The Spurs boss made six changes for the 3-1 win in Bulgaria and is expected to revert to his strongest possible line-up.

Hugo Lloris should replace Joe Hart in goal, while Ben Davies could be replaced by £28m summer signing Reguilon at left-back and Doherty could continue in case Aurier isn’t passed fit.

Toby Alderweireld could be given a rest after playing 90 minutes on Thursday night, with either Davinson Sanchez or Joe Rodon coming in.

Given Rodon can’t play in the Europa League group stage and there are some tough Premier League games coming up, we reckon Mourinho will give the 23-year-old his first Spurs start against the Baggies.

In midfield, the impressive Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is a shoo-in for a starting XI spot, and we feel Moussa Sissoko will keep his place, meaning Harry Winks would drop to the bench.

Further up, we think Mourinho will rest Gareth Bale after starting on Thursday, with Lucas Moura taking his place.

Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele, all amongst the first names on the manager’s teamsheet, should complete the XI.
