Spurs predicted XI v Cherries: £30m man dropped, Jose Mourinho to make ’emergency’ selection

The fixtures continue to pile up for Tottenham Hotspur, who are back in action this evening having played on Monday night, and then have the North London derby on Sunday.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho will be without Dele Alli, who has not recovered from his hamstring issue, and the suspended Eric Dier for tonight’s Premier League trip to struggling Bournemouth.

Japhet Tanganga and Juan Foyth, meanwhile, remain out through injury.

In front of Hugo Lloris’ goal, Davinson Sanchez could return for Spurs in Dier’s absence after being dropped for Everton, with Toby Alderweireld his centre-back partner.

On the left flank, Jan Vertonghen could replace Ben Davies for the sake of resting the latter, while a big decision could potentially come on the right-hand side.

Serge Aurier featured against Everton and is likely to be in the XI for the Arsenal game, so Mourinho could give the Ivory Coast international a rest for the Cherries clash.

Gedson Fernandes and Oliver Skipp have been training at right-back for “emergency” situations and the Portuguese on-loan man could potentially be given a chance to see what he can do there – if he doesn’t do well, Aurier could always come off the bench.

In front of the back four, Tanguy Ndombele seems like an obvious choice to come in alongside Harry Winks and give £30million ace Moussa Sissoko a rest ahead of the Gunners clash.

Further up the pitch, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min could also be rested, with Steven Bergwijn and Erik Lamela coming in.

No such luxuries for Giovani Lo Celso and Harry Kane, however, both of whom are too important to the team.

Predicted Spurs starting XI: Lloris; Gedson, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen; Winks, Ndombele; Bergwijn, Lo Celso, Lamela; Kane
