Tottenham Hotspur have a fantastic opportunity to reach the Carabao Cup semi-final with Jose Mourinho’s side set to face Stoke City in the last eight on Wednesday.
On paper, it looks to be a good tie for Spurs. They have lost their last two in the Premier League. But Stoke have only won one of their last four in the Championship. And they have scored one goal in their last three.

Mourinho will not be taking the Potters lightly. The Portuguese has always taken the cup competitions incredibly seriously.
It will be little surprise therefore, if he names a strong side – particularly following Tottenham’s last two results. But a number of key players may also be handed a rest.
The likes of Toby Alderweireld, Moussa Sissoko, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane could potentially sit the game out. Meanwhile, Serge Aurier, Sergio Reguilon, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele may also be taken out of the starting lineup.

The most notable inclusion may be Dele Alli. Of course, there are doubts over Dele’s future in North London. The Daily Mail reported this week that PSG believe that Spurs are finally ready to offload the 24-year-old – who earns £100,000-a-week, according to Spotrac.
But he has had a chance in a couple of their recent games. So perhaps he may be given a rare start on Wednesday.
Davinson Sanchez could come in to a backline that also includes Joe Hart, Matt Doherty and Ben Davies.
And Harry Winks may partner Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the middle of the park.
Gareth Bale, Lucas Moura and Carlos Vinicius could join Dele in the front four. It is a team that is certainly strong enough to win the tie. But it would also allow for several key players to rest up ahead of the club’s trip to Wolves on Sunday.
With that in mind, here is a look at how Spurs may look against Stoke…
