Report: Spurs open to realistic offers for star who Pochettino called 'amazing'
Spurs could look to sell midfielder Harry Winks this summer, as long as the offers they receive are ‘realistic’, according to Football.London.
Winks has been linked with a move away from the club in recent times, with reports suggesting the likes of Aston Villa are keen.
The midfielder was one of the regulars under Jose Mourinho initially. However, he fell down the pecking order and struggled to get regular starts throughout last season.
Winks is highly-rated at the club. Mauricio Pochettino was a big fan of the England man during his time with the club. Indeed, he previously labelled Winks as ‘amazing’ following a win at Fulham in 2019.
Football.London writes that while Winks is happy to remain in North London, the club could move him on. Fabio Paratici is looking to raise funds this summer to bring in new faces.
Winks, then, could well be one of the players sacrificed.
Time to move on
The writing has been on the wall for Winks for some time now. Even though he is a talent, you just get the feeling he needs a move.
If Spurs do bring in new players – and many are linked – then Winks will find himself in the same situation as last year. Put simply, he needs to move on to find first-team football.
Only then will he ever get a chance of getting back into the England fold.
