5 – Kane can’t get enough of playing Arsenal
If there’s one Tottenham man that can’t get enough of playing against their North London rivals, that man is Harry Kane and he was on fire once again on Sunday afternoon.
Five goals in his previous four North London derbies turned into six in five with an emphatic second-half penalty, and he spearheaded a vital win to keep on the heels of Chelsea in the title race.
On a day of contentious penalties across the Premier League, Kane was at the centre of more controversy when referee Michael Oliver deemed that Gabriel’s late tackle inside the area had made sufficient contact with the Tottenham striker’s shin to impede his progress towards the Arsenal goal.
There was nothing contentious about the finish, however, with Kane firing superbly into the bottom corner and leaving Petr Cech rooted to the spot to double his side’s lead in rapid succession.
His effort now means that he’s the highest scoring Tottenham player in history against Arsenal, and he has become the first player from either side to score in five consecutive derby matches.
The 23-year-old may have been on the Arsenal books as a youngster many years ago but there’s no doubt about where his allegiance lies now after yet another exceptional display against the Gunners.
