Spurs now reportedly want 'phenomenal' forward likened to Drogba, he'd tear the Premier League apart - TBR View

Tottenham Hotspur boast one of the best strikers in the world in Harry Kane, but speculation around his future remains.

Over the past few weeks, Bayern Munich have apparently expressed an interest in signing the Spurs and England star.

Kane’s contract expires in the summer of 2024, and if he doesn’t agree an extension soon, plenty of clubs are bound to start circling round.

With this in mind, Tottenham are seemingly keeping tabs on players who could come in to replace the 29-year-old if need be.

And according to Rudy Galetti, Spurs have identified the ‘ideal’ replacement for Kane in case he does up sticks.

The player in question is Napoli and Nigeria star Victor Osimhen.

‘Both deals could go through next summer, resulting in an incredible domino of strikers,’ he wrote on his website.

Although the prospect of Kane leaving Spurs would be upsetting for the club’s fans, Osimhen wouldn’t be a bad shout to replace him.

Tottenham target Osimhen – factfile

Osimhen is one of the hottest properties in world football right now.

Since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020, he has registered an impressive 37 goals and 11 assists from 73 appearances.

Osimhen’s efforts have helped his team go top of the Serie A table.

The ‘phenomenal‘ 23-year-old has also registered a staggering 15 goals from 23 appearances with Nigeria.

Osimhen would likely tear the Premier League apart, due to his style of play, workrate, and the fact he’s young and not yet at his peak.

As per Breaking the Lines, Osimhen ‘is an athletic, modern and strong striker (9) who has a strong eye for goal, is direct and is pretty good with his hold-up and linkup play.

‘He frequently looks to attack and create spaces, can receive the ball well with his back to the goal, has a good first touch and often times his runs perfectly.

‘At 185cm (6ft 1in) of height, while he may seem lanky and unathletic, Osimhen is actually a really good presser, useful in pinning back defenders and intercepting passes in the opponent’s third.

‘His pace is one of the deadliest parts of his game, especially in transitions as it allows him to get ahead of his opponents. In short, a modern number 9.’

Osimhen has been likened to Edinson CavaniDiego CostaDidier DrogbaGeorge Weah and Marco van Basten.

These are all players of the highest calibre, so he’d no doubt be great for Spurs – again, if Kane were to leave.
