Spurs must sign £17k-a-week star who's been compared to Havertz and Van Persie - TBR View
With the January transfer window on the horizon, new Spurs boss Antonio Conte will soon have the opportunity to bring in his own players.
Tottenham could certainly do with strengthening in a couple of positions.
And one player reportedly on Spurs’ radar is incredibly versatile and extremely talented.
According to Calciomercato, Tottenham are interested in Belgian prodigy Charles De Ketelaere.
The 20-year-old, who plays for Brugge, has largely been deployed as a centre-forward.
De Ketelaere is also impressive as an attacking midfielder, has featured on the left wing for Belgium, and even has experience at left-back.
Already he ticks several boxes for Spurs, who’d be getting cover for Harry Kane and Son Heung-min on top of a new option at No. 10.
De Ketelaere has also been tipped for stardom and earned comparisons with some top players.
Belgian journalist Mo Messoudi believes he could go on to eclipse the nation’s record transfer fee, which stands at £22million.
Speaking to Gazet van Antwerpen, he said: “As an attacking all-rounder, he’s even (Club Brugge’s) top scorer.
“For me, De Ketelaere is the most valuable player in Belgium at the moment.
“I am sure he will break the outgoing transfer record set by Jeremy Doku.”
In October, fellow Belgian journalist Frans Buyse told BBC Sport: “De Ketelaere’s style is reminiscent of De Bruyne.
“He is intelligent, and possesses great vision and a superb passing range. His dribbling is similar to De Bruyne’s too.
“Eventually, he should take his place for Belgium.”
Comparisons with De Bruyne in midfield, but what about up front?
Agreed Lang is already on Arsenals radar but I really like De Ketelaere reminds me of a young RVP.

De Ketelaere is contracted to Brugge until 2024 and Transfermarkt lists his value at £22.5million, so chances are he won’t come cheap.
But he is a high-calibre talent who ticks so many boxes for Spurs, is versatile and has an incredibly high ceiling.
Therefore, Conte and Paratici must push the boat out for the £17,000-a-week prodigy come 2022.
