Spurs were heavily linked with Adama Traore over the summer.
Indeed, speculation linking Tottenham with the Wolves ace carried on right until deadline day.
However, Spurs didn’t manage to land the Spain international before the transfer window shut.

According to The Athletic, Tottenham tried their luck on Monday with a £30million bid.
However, Wolves reportedly rejected it – BBC Sport added that they wanted £50million.
And despite reports hinting at a deadline day bid, The Athletic said Spurs didn’t come back for him on Tuesday.
Traore would’ve been great for Spurs – TBR View
Despite struggling in terms of goals and assists, Traore has looked much improved this season.
He’s been carrying the ball really well and is an incredibly hard player to stop.

Plenty of plaudits have come his way over the years – Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp has previously called him “unplayable” and “unbelievable”.
Traore would’ve been a great signing for Spurs, but perhaps £50million would’ve been a bit too steep at this stage.
Nonetheless, Tottenham have started the season well, brought in some good new recruits, and there’s plenty to build on.
