Tottenham Hotspur loanee Shilow Tracey has admitted that it was a crazy feeling scoring the first hat-trick of his career in Shrewsbury’s dramatic win on Tuesday night, in comments reported by the Shropshire Star.
Tracey went into the Papa John’s Trophy clash with Crewe looking to make his first start in more than a month for the Shrews.

But he certainly managed to make up for lost time. He scored the visitors’ second goal to put them 2-0 up. And he then went on to score twice more after Crewe had gone 3-2 ahead with an hour gone.
His second goal, in particular, came from a fantastic finish. And following the game, the 22-year-old could not hide his delight at being able to keep the match ball.

“I’m buzzing. I’m pleased to get this opportunity, I’m lost for words really, it’s the best day,” he said, as reported by the Shropshire Star. “I’m happy to help the team to win with three goals.
“I’ve just been grafting in training, trying to get into the team and I got my opportunity today.
“It was a crazy feeling, there is nothing better than that. It’s my first hat-trick.”
TBR View: Tracey now needs to push for regular spot
Tracey is unlikely to be under any illusions regarding how tough it will be to catch Jose Mourinho’s eye while he is away.
But he would be forgiven for not looking at the bigger picture at this time. Instead, he will simply be targeting a regular spot in Sam Ricketts’s side.
He has certainly staked a claim for a first league start. And if he can build on Tuesday’s display, perhaps this loan move can act as a real springboard for whatever the future may hold for the winger.
