Oliver Skipp is one of the Spurs players attracting interest heading into the final weeks of the transfer window.

According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, both Newcastle and Norwich would like to take the midfielder on loan this season.

Of course, Skipp spent last year with the Canaries. And his spell proved to be an overwhelming success. Daniel Farke’s side won the Championship title, and no player made more appearances for the club in the second tier.

It always looked set to be a tough decision choosing what to do with Skipp this year.

His performances at Carrow Road hint he is ready for a chance with Spurs. But obviously, it is quite the step up to the top-half of the Premier League.

It remains to be seen if Tottenham decide that he would be better off leaving for another year.

But surely Nuno Espirito Santo’s decision has been made for him after Sunday’s North London Derby clash with Arsenal.

Skipp shines as Spurs seal derby win

Skipp started against the Gunners. And he went on to produce an assured performance in the 1-0 win. He seemed to be everywhere throughout his time on the pitch.

He certainly staked a strong claim for a prominent role in Nuno’s plans during the coming campaign.

And with that, Spurs surely cannot consider loaning him out any longer.

He has shown he can shine against some very good sides. So watching him do well at another Premier League side would be difficult viewing for Tottenham fans.

Surely therefore, any hope Newcastle or Norwich had must have now gone.
