Spurs have a talent in their ranks who's like Ossie Ardiles, fans should be buzzing - TBR View
Spurs really have got themselves a diamond in Bryan Gil, a player with so much skill and potential.
The 20-year-old only joined Tottenham in the summer, but whenever he’s taken to the pitch for Spurs, he has shown so much promise.
According to Sky in Italy, Spurs paid £21.6million for Gil, who has penned a five-year contract at N17.
Judging by what we’ve seen so far from the young Spaniard, it could prove to be a bargain.
Nuno has used him sparingly so far – no surprise really, given his age and need to acclimatise to a new country and league.
He started in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup third-round trip to Wolves – which Spurs won on penalties after a 2-2 draw – and once again did really well.
As well as converting his penalty, Gil worked hard throughout the game, demanded the ball often, and always looked to make things happen.
He could’ve even got himself a goal in the 90 minutes, but for John Ruddy’s impressive save.
And after the match, Spurs icon Graham Roberts paid Gil a compliment which is a real badge of honour.
Credit to Fabio Paratici for making such a shrewd signing and bringing such a talented player to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Obviously Gil will need time to develop, both in terms of his own game and getting more used to the Premier League.
But overall, Spurs fans should be buzzing about this little superstar’s future.
