Tottenham Hotspur loanee Oliver Skipp has waxed lyrical about Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, saying he finds the Reds star’s vocal leadership qualities “fascinating”.
The 20-year-old is one of the brightest players to come through the Tottenham academy in recent years, and has been sensational on loan at Norwich this season.
Skipp has made 38 Championship appearances for the Canaries and has been a key player in their pursuit of a return to the Premier League, currently eight points clear at the top of the table.

The midfielder is so highly rated that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has tipped him to become a future club captain.
“I think he can be more than a player, he can be a future captain here,” he is quoted by 90Min as saying. “I see this kid being one day a future captain here by his character, by his personality.”
Skipp is also preparing for England Under-21 duty in the upcoming group stages of the U21 European Championships.
And ahead of turning out for the Young Lions, the Spurs gem spoke of how he’s been watching videos of Henderson in action for Jurgen Klopp’s side, while also praising West Ham’s Declan Rice.
“I think that they [Henderson and Rice] would be more than willing [to help me],” Skipp is quoted by the Evening Standard as saying.
“I mean, Declan Rice has played over 100 Premier League games and he’s not too much older than me, so he’d definitely the one I’d be looking to talk to and just to see how he’s going about it.
“Obviously, Henderson is a Champions League winner so they are definitely players that you can learn off, watch and see what they do.
“I think with Henderson and Rice, a big part of their game is their leadership qualities. You see, on the pitch, the vocal demanding, positive attitude.
“I was watching it, because sometimes Liverpool release a clip of where you can actually hear the players.
“You just listen to Henderson throughout the game driving that team on and I just found that fascinating, just watching him, and definitely something with the experience that you gain I can add to my game for sure.”

TBR View:
As things stand, Skipp would walk into Tottenham’s first team, so it would be surprising if Mourinho didn’t make him a starter in front of the back four as soon as he’s back in North London.
Likewise, he’s well placed to break into Gareth Southgate’s setup in the coming year or so.
Knowing that Skipp is modelling his game on Henderson and Rice is great, given how great those two have been for club and country.
